Camo Dipping A Gun

Hunting for game can be lot of fun. However, it is not always that you can go home with your prize after a great day of hunting. There are several things you will need to consider, like picking out the prefect day to go hunting, having the right equipment, and blending in with your surroundings. Most game hunting enthusiasts are quite concerned with how they blend in with their surroundings because this pretty much determines the element of surprise that enables them to successfully go after they prey. This is why most hunting enthusiasts want to learn camo dipping so they can effectively blend in with their surroundings each time they are in the outdoors.

There are different kinds of equipment you will need to camouflage but the gun is often the trickiest to camo dip. You will need a pair of gloves, protective eyewear, a mask, trash bags or canvas with tape, a bottle of acetone, masking tape, khaki spray, olive, brown and dark green paints, and sponge brushes in camo dipping a gun. The first thing you will need to do is to clean a gun with a soft rag moist with acetone to get rid of oil and dirt. You will then need to secure the parts the gun that should not be painted (like the scope, dials, power settings, and the bolt) with masking tape. You will then need to lay out garbage bags or canvas material in a well-ventilated area where you can safely lay down the gun.

Before you start painting, try to put on protective eyewear and masks. You will then need to shake the spray paint cans well before you use them. Now, you will need to paint the gun with a khaki base coat. Let the base coat dry for about half an hour before you apply a second coat. Remember to paint the gun using short bursts to keep you from focusing on one area too long that might cause the paint to become thick and run.

With the base coat complete, you now can paint the gun with shades of green. Make the pattern wavy and try to keep one and a half inches to three inches of space between the random shapes. The next thing you will need to do is to let this dry before you apply random brown lines on the gun. You can play with the shapes using the brushes you have.

After camo dipping the game, you simply need to let the paint dry. You can add a glossy overcoat if you wish. After camo dipping your gun, make sure to take off the masking tape from the gun parts.
