Left Without Uzbek Cotton the Great Britain Resuscitates Colonialist’s Syndrome

London isn’t pleased with Tashkent learned to trade cotton independently

“Quid prodest?» ?n old Roman saying asking «who benefits?» rises an other question about origin of the critic on Uzbek cotton farmers.

One British firm suddenly assumed itself as penalty heavenly and has threatened Uzbek farmers not to buy their cotton. At the same time repeating the reasons and arguments of the former British ambassador – alcoholic and retrograde in one person, tries to judge the whole Uzbek nation. This is an attempt to teach the “careless» Uzbeks on how to live further and what way to go. Obviously, it seems more preferable they to follow the way of colonizer England.

With regard to those incongruous conjectures it would be pertinent to state some reflections and advise descendants of the British colonizers, whose “dandy ancestors» one and all extirpated settlements in India and South Africa, Bangladesh and Canada, to be engaged in own businesses than to teach somebody some sense.

Several years have passed since the first opening of the Tashkent cotton fair, where Uzbek cotton is being sold in two years futures contracts. Probably, the real prospect of emerging in the heart of Central Asia the competitor of the Liverpool cotton stock exchange makes the progenies of colonialists, pretending covering up with concern for the Uzbek ecology and the Uzbek children, try to accuse people of Uzbekistan of all mortal sins. It is clearly to realize some negative consequences for Liverpool if Uzbekistan stops to trade with its cotton at the British stock exchange.

First, Uzbekistan, being the fifth in the world cotton harvester and second its exporter, can deprive some the British cities and the firms, engaged in cotton speculations, of serious incomes which they received exclusively due to an existing irrational exchange cotton.

Second, to experience of Uzbeks on organization of the new form of the international cotton trade can follow and other countries. Then losses of the Liverpool stock exchange will increase multiply.

Third, rise of such tendencies and their transition to new kinds of raw material (plans of Russia to establish the oil stock exchange in St.-Petersburg, growth of financial appeal of the United Arab Emirates and Singapore, etc.) can result, that in the near future the significant part of financial flows will greatly bypass the British islands. Besides, if not in Uzbekistan, but in the Great Britain, change of a global climate makes more and more difficult and unpredicted the further development of agriculture and a city infrastructure.

On a current historical way of development of the modern human civilization we become witnesses of escalating misunderstanding and growth of the contradiction between the East and the West.

The Western world asserts, that it has found the only true and infallible «elixir» for making a decision on all universal problems, consisting of the open market economy, system of democratic elections, religious freedom, an equality of genders and other criteria.

The Muslim world categorically considers a western model not only «heretical» but also rather dangerous for the future of all of humanity.

As a result, the West and the East are more and more rolling down if not toward a precipice of political confrontation, then at least, towards a zone of cultural and civilization, and politico–psychological contradictions, expressed in mutual aversion of ethical standards each other.

One of forms of disagreement between the parties is a difference of approaches to the problem of the use of child labor. There is no doubt, that the use of child’s labor in contempt of international norms must be stopped. But how to make a distinction between the abuse of child’s labor and the help of children to the parents and members of the families?

Recently the moral and ethical standards of a society in the West have been seriously weakened and various parties of sexual minorities had been spreading more quickly. Moreover, a family has transformed from its «classic understanding». Therefore presently in the Western world there is the demographic problem connected with «zero» or even negative index of birth-rate.

Alongside with above mentioned, in the West different social rejections in activity of various religious, sectarian, human rights and other organizations become a «norm» for public for a long time. At normatively-legal level and by means of mechanisms of «double standards» they try to adjust «backwardness of way of life» of the others including the eastern people. But by doing this they are not troubling themselves trying to understand originality and historical realities of development of the concrete countries and their peoples.

In the Muslim east during several centuries concept «family» continued to base on such criteria as respect for seniors, respect for parents, devotion to the family and etc. It was expressed in mutual assistance, education of younger generation, rendering assistance to relatives, including on the household and economy.

This way of life of the Muslim east in the West perceive as archaism, which should be “straightened» through norms and criteria of the western way of life.

The rich don’t know how the other half lives.

It is known, that in the majority the western societies belong to the rich or very rich states, so-called to « gold billion «. The level of income in countries is measured from 10 thousand dollars and more per capita. It is also to note, that in the West the average European at the time of his retirement receives the solid sum of capital from the government, and in this connection the question on the breadwinner on an old age of years is not so critical for him as, for example, in the eastern societies.

The states of the Muslim world, except for some oil monarchy of the Persian gulf, consists of from a number of developing or poor countries of the world. The governments of these countries, in comparison with European, cannot provide to their citizens solid pensions and the grants measured in thousand of dollars and euro. The population of these countries, basically, is rural.

With an intensive development of market attitudes, now in the East many families receive parcels of land, have farms, have opened the small firms and shops, develop the handicrafts. Although in reality the absence of work means there is no also a security of a life. And in general, in the East it is not accepted to indulge in vain hopes. So the customs and temper when the person even in old age used to work and be helpful both relatives ?nd part of a society with which he identifies himself. Exactly from that, how he and his family works, including even younger children, depend in many respects both their social status and respect in a society.

It is necessary to note, that at all times birth rate on village, where a natural requirement is always saved in hands, exceeded a birth-rate in town. In the East mainly cultivate cotton, and this work demands many efforts and large number of workers. The head of the family, the having allotment, often being the only source of the income, naturally enlists the children and close relatives to avoid costs on attraction of hired workers.

In this regard, the only hope and a support for an old age of years for inhabitants of villages in the East is the help from children and relatives. Blessing, as it is noted above, their families sustain solidarity, and relatives used to assist each other in any situation. Also in the countries of the East there are family units, which traditionally function having thousand-year history and being center of family-household and religious attitudes, ceremonies and holidays. The ancient consuetude of mutual help of the community, which always renders a necessary help to the needing members of society, is also saved.

The feasible contribution to development of a society is brought by younger generation. The children from the earliest age are taught to respect a labor and values of the community and environment where they live and coexist with. In the East the person since the childhood is brought up love to work, and in most cases elders enable him to expose his talents. Many children from their childhood determine the future profession, and sometimes go in the footsteps of parents, mainly handicraftsmen, and try successfully to realize themselves professionally.

However, some of western human rights organizations and NPO, such as IWPR, “Environmental Justice Foundation» (the UK) consider this as the forced use of child labor. Thus, these known « fighters for freedom of children « completely and impudently ignore the obvious facts of violence and compulsion of children in Europe and USA.

For example, last year in Holland party of pedophiles «Mercy, Freedom and Variety» got registration, which already has the right to take part in parliamentary elections of the Netherlands officially. One of the requirements which have been put forward by its leader Ad van den Berg, became «legalization of sex with children from 12 years; legalization of children’s prostitution and a children’s pornography, participation of children in the pornographic films etc.

A list of similar sort of «now-how» and «best practices» of the West in «not exploitation of child’s labor» could be even longer.

At the end, I would like to make some conclusions. As a matter of fact, today we observe, how the western civilization tries to change not only own values, but also to impose the already gone bankrupt social reference points and model of behavior to the Muslim East. There is an attempt of creation of new false stereotypes, which logic sounds as follows:

Everything, that is not similar to our values is an incomprehensible, so, an alien, unnatural, wrong, hostile and a subject to eradication. The world should spread our values.

Some EU countries deliberately go on provocation the Muslim East, periodically publishing cartoons offensive for the most sacred feelings of one and a half billion Muslims of the world, followers of prophet Mohammed. This will not, definitely, finish well bringing the world to the beginning of «a hot phase» conflict of civilizations. Then, it could be too late to stop.
