This is a item that is getting a ton of interest from our customers. Everyone who has bought one has been super stoked because of the incredible heat this gives off. This is a poly propylene vest with infra-red heat pads that actually warm the entire vest. It has a rechargable battery pack that stores in the side of the vest. The Cypher Heat vest actually has 2 settings (low – high) so you can control how much heat the pads give off. The heating pads are on your lower back. If you keep that area warm (your core) your entire body feels the effect. In the low setting – the ambient temperature it gives off is 113 degrees farenheit. That goes up to 130 degrees on the higher setting. The vest itself is made from 7 ounce polypro so it fits comfortably under your wetsuit. Since cold is a pretty subjective experience – it is hard to accurately say how warm it keeps you – but I’ve heard stories of guys in the Northeast wearing this under a 3/2 even in pretty cold water. If you are looking for some extra heat this winter – then check this out. It is a bit pricey – but it is cheaper than a second – thicker wetsuit. Plus – can you really put a price on warmth?
