How to Take Care of Your Wool Scarf

Love it, care it. Then, you can make the most use of it. Such principle also works well for your wool scarf. Today, I am going to talk about how to maintain your wool scarf.

Wool scarf keeps us from the cold winter. It is so sweet, is not it? However, we may often be upset about how to clean it in suitable way. Even though a variety of washes are available for us, we may run the risk at ruining our lovely wool scarves with them. Some even do not have a good performance in washing, which take much effort to clean a wool scarf. More often than not, our scarves become the victims of those poor washes. So, it is careful to choose a real good wash.

It is about how to clean it when you find a suitable wash. You put the wash into a water with a temperature at 30℃ and wait for 30 minutes before you put your wool scarf into the water for 10 minutes. Then, you must knead the scarf gently before having it cleaned with clear water.

Apart from a correct choice for a wash and a washing method, the daily maintenance is also very important. It is about where you put it and how you save it.

A washed wool stuff, such as a cashmere scarf, must be laid on a flat towel in its original shape instead of being hung in the air. After the dehydration process, you should make it flat with a steam iron at temperature of 140℃. It is best to keep the iron at least 0.5 cm away from the cashmere scarf.

During the summer when we do not usually use it, we need to keep a wool scarf in a correct way. As the wool scarf is made of the goat wool which is an animal protein fiber, it is a hotbed for worms. Furthermore, the thin fiber can be distorted by a slight press. Therefore, we have to fold it into a pack and lay it flat. The place where you keep the wool scarf must be shielded from light and dry. Do not allow the mothproofing agent to have a direct contact with the wool scarf.

However, as a winter fashion, the wool scarf also needs to be worn in a correct way which also can protect it well. You should also make the least possibility that the wool scarf would rub with some other wool-made sweaters and some other hard surface, such as a handbag strap, a table, a leather couch, a chair and others.
