When designing a logo for a kid friendly site the type of logo you present will make or break the site. If you are beginning a business dedicated to kids, there are important factors to remember when developing the site.

The navigation should be fairly simple and easy to get to. It is imperative the style is kid friendly. Meaning the format should be bright, colorful and pictures should be large or easy to see. Depending on the type of site it is making the logo similar to that of a Childs book cover will be quite attractive. When searching for a site that is dedicated to kids, parents will want something that is appealing to them as well.

If it is a kid’s store, your logos should be focused on adults visual thought through a child’s vision.
The logo can be developed on a small scale; however, it should make a big impact. Using a lot of primary colors will be visually enhancing to a child as well as mom or dad. When developing the logo, get out the construction paper and crayons for inspiration.

If you have children, let them be a part of the logo design, who better to design a kid’s logo than a kid. Children have big bright imaginations and will be able to put their thoughts on paper sometimes easier than adults. Use a lot of abstract designs, circles, triangles and squares are big hits when it comes to designing logos that are kid friendly.

Comics are another thought to consider when doing this type of design. The comic should not be difficult to comprehend, use a simple comic style action figure that is your own design, add colorful clothing and you have a perfect kid logo.

If you’re attempting to target kids or parents there have to be attention getting items. Inspiration is available in any child’s room, search through the room for a main color or a toy that gets your attention, anything that immediately jumps out to you will jump out on your site. Most kids do not know the difference between brands; they only have an interest in big and colorful. A child will be able to tell you the difference in cartoons, so keep this in mind if using a cartoon type logo, do not try to copy a known cartoon, make one of your own.

It is pretty much an open field when designing a kid’s logo as long as you remember you are targeting children or parents. Keep it easy, simple and different. If you hire a professional to do the logo, keep in mind, they should have a sense of style suitable for a kid. Make sure you look at other logos designed for children and do not accept that they can do, judge their work beforehand. If you do not feel comfortable expressing your design thoughts to the professional you have selected, find another one. Designing your logo should be everything you have interpreted to the designer.
