Making A Statement With Stripes – Luke 1977

Men’s clothing can often become difficult to incorporate unique fashions and designs into a practical wardrobe. The basic formula of casual wear consisting of jeans and a t-shirt to the more business casual look of slacks with a button or sweater don’t always lend themselves to stylized fashion. There are ways though to add some flare and pop the appearance of your typical menswear. One simple way to distinguish your pieces of clothes is the simple stripe.

Stripe clothing has always been around but is not as common in most scenes as the base color pieces. There are many ways that incorporating a simple striped piece in with other items will create a unique and distinct look in any outfit.

Formal Stripes

When you are looking for a business casual outfit it can be hard to set your outfit apart. Most common look include a single color slack with a single color sweater or button up shirt up top. Adding in just one piece of clothing with stripes on it will make the outfit stand out more than you would think.

The thing to remember is not to overdo it with the stripe pieces. You typically do not want more than one striped piece of clothing in an outfit. If you have a striped or checkerboard shirt you will want a solid color tie and slacks. Putting too many striped articles of clothing together in one outfit can lead to a distracting optical illusion instead of a stylish edge.

Options for just one extra item to fit into a business casual wardrobe include the Luke 1977 Hemmingway or Wainwright Lion scarves. Both striped scarves will go great with a base color dress shirt or overcoat. Both scarves also have two distinct colors of stripes that you can mix and match with different pieces for different looks.

Casual Stripes

Stripes can also do wonders to distinguish and accentuate casual clothing options as well. Having a simple stripe pattern polo or t-shirt with a denim jean can do much more to catch someone’s eye than a basic single color piece.
