History, material and stylish dicide the difference between Timberland and Ugg boots

People regard wearing Ugg boots as a fashion, however, some people will disagree, they said Timberland boots are my best choice, I like it, I wear it. Ugg-what’s this? It is hard to say the disagreement are wrong. They have their oppion. However, Timberland boots and Ugg boots are different types of boots, do them have comparability?

-History

In 1918, Timberland founder Nathan Swartz started a career in shoe-making by sewing pieces of leather to make boots. In the 1960s, the company pioneered the concept of waterproof boots, a boot that enjoyed patronage from most urban folks well into the 1990s. Since then, Timberland has launched various lines of hiking, boating, athletic shoes and sandals, geared for people who enjoy more active pursuits.

The patented Timberland style is epitomized by rugged, chunky leather with a thick lug sole. But Timberland takes a more inclusive take in its products. Its women’s line has a sundry of colors and patterns to choose from, a fact that makes this brand appeal to people of all genders.

The original Ug Boot. “Ug,” (also spelled “Ugg” and “Ugh” in Australian dictionaries) is not a brand name but an age old generic term for this style of Australian-made sheepskin boot. In Aussie slang, the Ug name is short for “ugly.” In terms of comfort, however, the Ug Boot is a thing of beauty. The softness of the Australian Merino sheepskin produces a boot with a snug, cozy, form-fitting feel that more like a sock than a shoe, yet it rugged enough for outdoor wear. The fleece lining has the astonishing property of providing year-round comfort. In cold weather, the plush fleece provides an insulating layer of warmth by trapping your body heat, much like goose down does. But in the heat of summer, the natural fibers of the fleece actually cool your feet by wicking away perspiration.

-Material

Ugg boots are made of sheepskin. Genuine Ugg Boots are made from the highest quality materials, including sheepskin hide. Sheepskins have to be preserved properly before they can be processed into boots. Tanneries use large vessels called paddles, that hold anywhere from 3,000 to 15,000 liters of salt water and slowly swish the skins around inside. This is a gentle process that takes about 10 days to get the hides properly tanned and ready to be cut for UGG boots. A “clicking press” is used to cut individual panels from the skins. After being cut to the right size, the panels are then sewn together using special industrial sewing machines.

Timberland boots are made of leather. Timberland leather boots come with genuine suede or other quality leathers that are water-proof and resistant to chemicals and oils. Plus these leather boots also boast fashionable designs.

-Stylish

Timberland makes boots for men, women and children. Their product line includes casual, everyday footwear, active sports and specialized sports footwear, like hiking boots, as well as professional grade boots. Products come in a variety of materials, colors and styles ranging from below the ankle shoes to mid and tall, mid-calf boots. Product names include: Howies — shoes and gear built with the environment in mind; I Path — footwear and apparel for the skateboarding industry; the standard Timberland boot — built for outdoor use; and Timberland Pro — a boot for the working man or woman. Many Timberland boots can be customized, allowing consumers to choose materials, colors and specialty stitching and embroidery, including monograms. Many boots are made to be waterproof, stain resistant and extra long wearing.
